THE COLLINS KIDS (USA)
You simply cannot do justice to Larry and Lorrie Collins musical career in one paragraph. The hit records, the television shows, the live shows, the recording, the writing…. They have worked with the biggest names and recorded the biggest hits: Whistle Bait, Hotrod, Move a Little Closer, Hoy Hoy, Beetle Bug Bop, I’m in My Teens, Hop Skip and Jump, Just Because, Make Him Behave, Soda Poppin Around, Mercy, Heartbeat, and for Larry’s manic Mosrite, The Rockin’ Gypsy.
But better than all of that, they are great fun to be with! The laughter, the energy and the sheer love of their music is just awe inspiring. Lorrie will steal your heart… and Larry will steal your Hotrod!!! Watch out The Collins Kids are back in town!!

LEW WILLIAMS (USA)
When we first invited Lew over to play the Rave, many years ago, we were only a small festival, and thought he may not agree to come, especially on our small budget. He came anyway, because he is a thoroughly decent man, who knew we were passionate about his music and his huge, but largely unrewarded, contribution to rock’n’roll. I promised him then that one day he would return to the ‘small’ weekender that he had so generously supported. I am very proud to announce that the Imperial recording star is back, with his ground breaking hits: Cat Talk, Bop Bop Ba Doo Bop, Centipede, Gone Ape Man, Abracadabra, Don’t Mention My Name, and Something I Said. Innovative tunes that inspired and shaped our scene and became our Anthems, and they couldn’t have come from a nicer musician. Welcome back Lew!

BIG SANDY and the original FLY RITE TRIO (USA)
Don't miss this special 20th Anniversary reunion show featuring the original hit-making line up of Robert Williams, Wally Hersoom, T.K. Smith and Bobby Trimble, performing all their massive club hits. First show in the UK since the Rockabilly Rave in 2002!

AMBER FOXX (USA)

Amber Foxx may not be well known in Europe, but her Rave appearance is about to change all that. Ask yourself why Jerry Chatabox would organise Work Permits and Visas and go to all the trouble and expense, to fly an unknown, five piece band from Anaheim California, halfway around the world to play the main stage at his festival? Either he’s a complete dollop, or this band is exceptionally good… you decide.

OMAR & THE STRINGPOPPERS (USA)
Perhaps the best known of the young bands on Reb Kennedy’s Wild Record label, Omar has set the benchmark pretty high in the standard of writing and performing. When he was just 19 he tore the place up at VLV and the rest is history. He runs a rockin Barber joint in Long Beach where he tears up peoples hair….

LUIS & THE WILDFIRES (USA)
The real Wild Child of Wild Records, Luis Arriaga is bringing his high octane, powerhouse Californian rock’n’roll show to the Rave. His latest killer album, ‘Brain Jail’ (with telling track, ‘Wild in the Head’) says it all. The guy may not be quite right in the head, in fact lets face it, he’s obviously quite insane, but who cares when the music is as good as this?!!!

THE RIZLAZ (JAPAN)
How many UK festivals do you see putting on Japanese rockin bands? Not many that’s for sure, which is why it is such a great honour and pleasure to welcome the sharp and seriously kool Rizlaz!!! A tight, bright combo with trademark sizzling guitar licks, crowd pleasers in any language.

SANTOS (USA)
Wild Recording Act Santos, arrives from Hollywood to make his first appearance before a Rave crowd. Billed as the new singing teenage sensation in 2005, his record ‘The Tease’ has become a dance floor filler for the strollers. A good looking young man, with a great stage show and huge sex appeal, reminds me of myself in many ways (but mainly in those funny dreams I keep having, I must stop eating cheese before bedtime…). Girls, do not miss this show!

ROCKIN’ BONNIE & THE ROT GUT SHOTS (ITALY)
This band was billed as ‘most promising newcomers’ last year and have certainly lived up to that name. Featuring Nuno ‘the big boom’ on bass, a pounding piano and drums and incredible Italian flair from Max on guitar. Add in the honest vocal delivery of new young talent, Sabrina and Mamma Mia! With these ingredients we’re cookin’ Italian style!

THE WILDGONERS (FRANCE)
Musically one of the very best bands ever to come out of France. Professional, well rehearsed and immaculately groomed. A string of hits before their singer Olivier was deported to Canada. Now even they don’t want him, and have sent him back to beg on the streets of Bourges. Think of this gig as an act of kindness from Jerry Charityabox…

LOOSE NOOSE (UK)
Mark Harmon, our very own home grown blonde bomber, singer/songwriter/guitar maestro of neo supergroup Restless, hits the Rave with his new rockabilly trio and we shall treat him as only a living rock’n’roll legend would expect. That’ll be the cold dressing room with the vomit stain on the carpet as usual then…

CHARLIE HIGHTONE & THE ROCK-ITS (SPAIN)
When we played Charlie’s first release at the High Rockabilly show in Spain, I thought the boppers would actually stamp through the dance-floor. To write an instant club hit, then follow it with another, is exactly what this young man has done. Buy his EP on Sleazy Records, play it loud and then stamp through your lounge floor. It’s the Spanish Law. (Remove furniture and small children first).

THE FRET TONES (SCOTLAND)
The brand new band fronted by the tartan terror Keith Turner, were formed whilst on an all week drinking binge in a shop doorway in Edinburgh. When asked about the new CD the lads replied, ‘Ahh weel ye ken yer wee sassenach southern graghter, hoots Mcblain a noddle a noo??!!! That’s what comes of drinking lighter fuel I guess.

THE BOP SHACK STOMPERS (UK)

With a little nostalgic tear in my eye (when I heard the price…), we are proud to bring back the Bop Shack Boys out of premature retirement. They were rounded up like the magnificent seven, from old peoples homes, from prison, from the floor of a kebab shop, from a dodgy blues band and Roger from his work as the Cultural Ambassador of Battersea. Their Meteoric rock’n’roll will once again collide with Earth…

JACK RABBIT SLIM (UK)
The new turbocharged version of JRS bring their own special brand of Sleazeabilly to the Rave, (like you lot weren’t sleazy enough before…)! Exceptional new CD out on Western Star, with worldwide fame, sex, sleaze, glamour, rubber wear, drink and notoriety to follow… I just used to have a cup of tea and a nice biscuit after a gig… clearly I was going to the wrong parties…. where did it all go wrong?

MISCHIEF (HOLLAND)
The Dutch tight harmony trio finally make a long overdue appearance at Rave 12… A great band and good fun to work with, these guys have been around so long it’s a mystery why they haven’t played the Rave before now. Seeing them at the bar every year, I probably thought I had booked them, but they were too drunk to make it to the stage... or was that me?

LAWEN STARK & THE SLIDE BOPPERS (BELGIUM)
If you think all rockin combos sound the same, then take the time to check out these guys. Difficult to explain but they have their own unique style, sometimes a bit like Johnny Cash but never trying to mimic him or be him. When they take on covers, they never sound as straightforward as the originals. Very interesting and unusual.

THE BARNSHAKERS (FINLAND)
The backbone of the Finish rockin scene, with more live shows over the years than you can shake a Moose’s antlers at… Like a Scandinavian version of The Sureshots… but sober, and better dressed, and more professional, and more rehearsed, and talented and nicer….

THE MONTGOMERY MUSIC MAKERS (UK)
Two years ago a teenager sent me a demo. Very simple stuff, simple recording, all instruments played by himself. He chose four great but obscure tracks, stuff that a young lad just shouldn’t know. He clearly felt the music inside him. I always kept that demo, waiting for him to start a band and I couldn’t be more happy than to now introduce Glen and that band, to the Rockabilly Rave and to what I am sure will be many new fans, who all feel that same way inside, about our music.

CATTLE CALL (FRANCE)
Someone called Grandma, signed the contract for this cheerful bunch, who have happily settled in the French mountains, singing Cajun songs, marrying their own kinfolk and burning hippies. Nothing wrong with that - except in the eyes of the Law, which tends to be quite strict on that sort of thing. They will bring Banjos, fiddles and quite possibly rabies, to our afternoon, get to know Granny sessions… bring your cleanest wooden teeth.

THE ROCKIN’ 8-BALLS (FINLAND)
Finland’s hard core, no nonsense rockers are back. Musically a cross between rockabilly, Johnny Kid and the Pirates and a good hard punch in the face…New album on Goofin records and worldwide success with monster bopper, Freight Train Boogie.

MISS MARY ANN & THE RAGTIME WRANGLERS (HOLLAND)
If your band sold more CDs than this lady’s last release, I’d be very surprised. ‘Rock It On Down to my House’ was snapped up by Sonic Rendezvous who recognised a good thing when it was stuffed in their ears. I just like her because she’s a great cook and has a lovely bum. In the interests of fairness and sexual equality it should be pointed out that the bands collective buttocks are much admired and their beans on toast is legendary.

AL WILLIS & THE NEW SWINGSTERS (FRANCE)
Tail recording artiste Al Willis makes his Rave debut with his new band, an amazingly powerful vocal delivery and interesting new songs. This is a classic example of ‘50s style rockabilly, as you would have heard it, but performed right here, right now. Dagnamit, these frogabillies are just too darn good! (Lawyers please note: frogabillies is a term of endearment we love all French people everywhere, black, white, green… whatever)!

THE GO GETTERS (SWEDEN)
Pete Sandberg, the bad boy of rockin punkabilly, will be let out to play on Thursday night. Authentic music lovers cover your ears, girls cover your eyes and I’ll try to cover my wallet at the bar, (no change there..)! For Health & Safety reasons we would ask our customers not to tempt Swedish musicians with normal alcohol, as it is simply not strong enough and can cause a serious blood/moonshine imbalance in what’s left of their brain.

THE HUMDINGERS (UK)
If you haven’t seen this bunch before, you are in for a treat… especially if your idea of a treat is electric shock therapy or naked Circus freak wrestling…. We may risk being sued for releasing them on an unprepared audience, so be warned : to say that the Humdingers are a little strange, is like saying the Pope has slight Catholic tendencies… In their own words, ‘a dog is just for Christmas, but Beer is for life..’ Amen.

Disclaimer: The Rockabilly Rave accepts no responsibility for non appearance of any acts advertised in this brochure. Getting a musician to sign a contract is as pointless as asking a hampster to do a newspaper crossword; they just chew it up, wee on it and use it as bedding. (Unlike hampsters which are much cleaner than musicians and never soil their own bedding…).
